The ill effects of corona and lockdown have reached so deep in various sections of the society that it is unlikely to be reversed in the near future. Using two-wheelers and four-wheelers has become a costly affair for citizens. The curfew has resulted in reduced income and high expenditure.
Corona patient was found in Aurangabad in March 2020. The citizens endured the first wave and the second wave. However, the lockdown followed with the second wave has severely hit small and large businesses. For the last three months, the citizens have been facing partial lockdown and lockdown. Over 60 per cent of the citizens have lost their income. In addition, maintenance of two-wheelers and four-wheelers is becoming almost impossible. Many citizens have set aside their vehicles. Vehicles are being used only for essential work. Many vehicles have been in unused state for a long time and need a mechanic to start. Many employees in essential services have to bear the cost of maintenance at an increased rate. Likewise the hike in petrol and diesel prices in the last few days is also bothering the citizens. A litre of petrol now costs a hundred rupees. As the average of many vehicles is low, people are avoiding the use of vehicles. For the past eight to ten months, many have almost stopped using four-wheelers.
