Aurangabad, Oct 16:

Kranti Chowk police have registered an offence against unidentified thief for entering an open house during broad daylight and decamped with a purse containing gold ornaments, cash and mobile handset, all valuing Rs 1.25 lakh, on October 14 afternoon.

According to details, the complainant Satish Onkar Wase''s aged mother stays in a two-room house in Samarthnagar. On Wednesday, the lady kept the purse in the front room at 3.30 pm and went into the kitchen. The purse contained her golden chain or ''mangalsutra'' weighing 26 grams, mobile handset and cash of Rs 2,000. She was busy in her kitchen room. Seeing the door open of the house, the thief stepped in the front room and fled away with the purse. The aged woman found her purse missing when she came in the front room at 4 pm. She then immediately informed her son.

Meanwhile, the complaint is registered, and further investigation is underway by the police inspector Nirmala Pardeshi.
