Water supply of city restored after 90 hours

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: After 90 hours, the water supply to the city was restored through that new 900 mm pipeline.

It may be the new pipeline burst on January 20. The repair work of that water main was completed on Thursday morning.

The project, which has cost Rs 195 crores, has not been completed. The work on the 75 MLD water purification plant under the scheme is stagnant currently.

As a result, only 20 MLD additional water is being supplied daily. In addition, the 900 mm water pipe is repeatedly bursting due to the impact of the JCB being used for the 2500 mm water pipe of the new scheme and other reasons.

The 900 mm water pipeline burst after a JCB hit it in front of the Pharola Water Purification Center on the afternoon of January 20.

After being repaired on Tuesday afternoon, the water pipeline burst again at the same place. In-charge Executive Engineer of Maharashtra Jeevan Pradhikaran Kiran Patil said that the repair work was done on Thursday.

Water supply department executive engineer K M Falak said that water was supplied to the city after 90 hours. Meanwhile, water is being supplied to Cidco-Hudco, the old city with delays and in some places, even a day late.
