When to expect audit report of ventilators supplied in Marathwada?

Aurangabad, May 18:

The government released a stock of 150 ventilators for the district under PM Care Fund. Out of which, 55 of them had been distributed to neighbouring districts in Marathwada on the orders of the divisional commissioner. Meanwhile, it has been revealed that the internal politics had got active in the administration and the district health office is being pressurised not to give the report regarding the ventilators (whether they were defunct or in usable condition). So far, the government had not taken any initiatives by forming a team or committee to perform the audit of these ventilators.

The different wings of administration are protecting themselves by squarely blaming GMCH for it. However, the health department had not given its opinion so far.

It so happened that the divisional commissioner gave 15 ventilators to Hingoli, 10 to Beed, 15 to Osmanabad, and 15 to Parbhani (total 55). However, nobody knows what happened about these ventilators. The deputy divisional commissioner Jagdish Maniyar in his letter to the district collector Sunil Chavan (on April 23) had stated the respective district civil surgeons had not sent the report whether the ventilators given to them had been installed or not? Later on, the district collector Sunil Chavan gave 25 ventilators (20 to MGM Hospital and five to United Ciigma Hospital) on April 27. Later, on May 1, it gave three ventilators each to Pacific Hospital and HMG Hospital. On May 10, the administration gave 10 more ventilators to the Pacific Hospital.

Testing of all ventilators

MLC Satish Chavan will be obtaining a report on these ventilators supplied in Marathwada from May 18. " I will demand in writing from each district's civil surgeon about the problems faced in installing the ventilators given to them, said Chavan." The MLC raised eyebrows saying that it was expected from the health department to perform an audit of ventilators, but why it has not been done is an issue.
