Aurangabad, March 10:

A miscreant attacked three youths over old rivalry and started stabbing them. Another youth tried to chase him, but he pierced him with the knife for five to six times, due to which the youth died. The incident occurred in front of Pakhre Nivas in Anguribaug area at around 12.15 am on Wednesday. Meanwhile, the three injured youths are being treated at the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) and condition of one of them is said to be critical.

The deceased has been identified as Syed Danishoddin Shafioddin (21, Anguribaug). Syed Salim Syed Khalil (25, Anguribaug), Shaikh Jabbar alias Shammu Mohammad Khan (27), and Fayyaz Naser alias Baba Khan (34) were injured in the attack.

The Krantichowk police have registered and arrested the accused Nitin alias Gabbya Bhaskar Khandagale, his brother Somnath Bhaskar Khandagale, sister Adv Deepali Bhaskar Khandagale and mother Ratnamala Bhaskar Khandagale.

Two months back, Shaikh Jabbar and accused Nitin alias Gabbya Khandagle had a quarrel. Counter cases were registered at the Kranti Chowk police station against both of them. As both were residents of the same lane, the matter was resolved after the neighbors' intervention. Still, Nitin was angry with it. On Wednesday at around 12.15 am, Salim, Jabbar and Fayyaz came on a motorcycle. The accused Nitin was standing near Pakhre Nivas, he stopped them and started stabbing three of them.

Meanwhile, Danishoddin was walking to his grandfather’s house. After watching the quarrel, he tried to grab Nitin. However, Nitin stabbed Danishoddin in the chest, hand, back and waist. He was soon lying in the pool of blood.

The nearby residents gathered at the spot. The relatives of the injured started beating Nitin. Later, Nitin’s relatives came there and started beating all the injured.

The Kranti Chowk police, on receiving the information, rushed to the spot and took all the injured to the Government Medical College and Hospital. Danishoddin died while undergoing treatment at around 3.15 am.

The Commissioner of Police and other senior officers visited the GMCH and the incident spot. On the complaint of Syed Rafiyoddin, the Kranti Chowk police have registered a case against the accused and arrested them.

Nitin was accused of 2018 riots?

The police sources said that Nitin Khandagale alias Gabbya was the accused in the riots of May 11, 2018 at Motikaranja, Raja Bazar area. The police had seized articles robbed from a shop from his house at this time. Nitin runs a business of selling readymade garments at wholesale rates. His father has retired from the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC).

CT Scan conducted

Accused Nitin alias Gabbya was injured in this fight. He was admitted in the GMCH where a CT Scan test was conducted on him.

The Father of deceased Danishoddin is an editor of a weekly. Danish was studying in Maulana Azad College in class 12th. He has two brothers and two sisters.

Strict Bandobast

The police have increased the bandobast at the GMCH and incident areas to avert any untoward incident. PI, Avinash Aghav, Dr Ganpat Darade, Sachin Sanap, Sambhaji Pawar, Amol Devkar, Pramod Katane, policemen, and the Riots Control Squad have been deployed. The police have kept a watch on every activity in this regard.
