Global Technology Summit 2025 champions sustainability with phase-wise ESG action models

New Delhi [India], April 14 : The recently concluded Global Technology Summit (GTS) 2025, organised by Carnegie India in Delhi, showcased a strong commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility.

The event stood out not just for its focus on global tech developments but also for the eco-conscious planning that went into every phase of the summit.

This year, Carnegie India partnered with The GenC to implement a phase-wise ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) action model. This model was designed to reduce the summit's environmental impact and promote a new culture of responsible event management.

From the start of planning to the post-event activities, the GTS team made conscious choices to prioritise sustainability.

As per the event organisers, the event used reusable food and beverage cutlery across the venue, while repurposed wood was used in event fabrication. Even the waste management systems were designed with a circular approach, ensuring minimum waste and maximum recycling.

The organisers also focused on involving delegates in these efforts. Real-time tracking of the event's carbon footprint was displayed, helping visitors understand the environmental impact of their participation. There were also interactive discussions and activities to raise awareness and encourage accountability among attendees.

GTS 2025 has not only reduced its environmental footprint but also created a model for how future events in India can be planned and executed sustainably. It marks a step forward in merging technology with environmental care, proving that innovation and responsibility can go hand-in-hand.

Carnegie India's ninth Global Technology Summit (GTS), which was co-hosted with the Ministry of External Affairs, was held from April 10 to 12, 2025, in New Delhi, with public sessions on April 11 and 12.

This year's theme, 'Sambhavna'meaning "possibilities" in Hindihighlighted the transformative potential of critical and emerging technologies to drive economic growth while shaping international relations, security frameworks, and global governance.

The event spanned over 25 sessions with more than 150 speakers, including industry experts, policymakers, and academics from around the world to explore topics such as the geopolitics of technology, artificial intelligence, digital public infrastructure, India's tech evolution, cybersecurity, international tech collaborations, data governance, and more.
