Redmi Note 7S with 48MP primary camera now in India

Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi on Monday refreshed its Redmi Note 7 lineup with the 48MP camera-powered Redmi Note 7S for a starting price of Rs 10,999.

The 6.3-inch device with Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 chip would be available online from May 23 in two variants: Rs 10,999 for the 3GB+32GB variant and Rs 12,999 for the 4GB+64GB variant in Sapphire Blue, Ruby Red and Onyx Black colour, the company said in a statement.

"The newly-launched Redmi Note 7S continues the company's strong legacy with a powerful 48MP+5MP rear camera system, offering Mi Fans the opportunity to capture and enjoy excellent images in addition to its array of amazing features," said Anuj Sharma, Chief Marketing Officer, Xiaomi India.

Xiaomi sold over 2 million units of its Redmi Note 7 series that came with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on both sides.

Redmi Note 7S has Full HD+ (2340×1080p) Dot Notch Display and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 at both front and back.

The 48MP camera on Redmi Note 7S features a large 1.6µm 4-in-1 Super Pixel. The device houses 13MP front camera with AI Portrait mode.

The "Steady Handheld Night Photography" mode on the camera app uses algorithms with an aim to achieve a perfect shot regardless of the light conditions.

The device has fingerprint sensor, AI scene detection, AI portrait and AI face unlock features as well.

Redmi Note 7S has 4,000mAh battery with USB Type-C and Quick Charge 4 support and sports Hybrid dual SIM and a microSD slot.

The device will be available on Mi.com, Flipkart and Mi Homes from May 23 and at retail stores from May 24.
