The Government of Karnataka has posthumously honored Vikram S. Kirloskar, former Vice Chairman of Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM), with the prestigious "Industrial Legacy" Award at the Invest Karnataka 2025 Global Investors Meet.
The award, presented to his wife, Geetanjali Vikram Kirloskar in Bangalore, recognized Kirloskar’s pivotal contributions to Karnataka’s industrial development and TKM’s role in positioning the state as a leading manufacturing hub.
Accepting the award on his behalf, Geetanjali Vikram Kirloskar, chairperson and MD, Kirloskar Systems Pvt Ltd, the partner company for all Toyota-Kirloskar Joint Ventures in India, on behalf of her and her daughter Manasi Tata, expressed deep gratitude for the recognition of her late husband's contributions.
A pioneering force in India's industrial development, Vikram Kirloskar played a crucial role in bringing Toyota to India through several joint ventures. This transformative collaboration significantly strengthened Karnataka’s automotive and manufacturing ecosystem, fostering employment generation, technological advancements, and sustainable industrial growth. After his sudden demise, Geetanjali Vikram Kirloskar & Manasi Tata have ensured a seamless leadership transition, to uphold and expand the Kirloskar legacy.
