Abhishek Sharma put on a sensational display against England’s bowlers in the 5th and final T20 match between India and England on Sunday, January 3. After scoring a century in just the second match of his T20 career, he reached the milestone again after nearly 15 games. With this century, he set multiple records, including the most sixes in an innings by an Indian in an international T20 match.
Former England cricketer Sir Alastair Cook was stunned by Abhishek's explosive hitting and made a statement that is now creating quite a buzz. Praising the young Indian batsman’s innings at Wankhede, Cook remarked, "Abhishek Sharma hit more sixes in two hours than I hit in my whole life".
Abhishek Sharma smashed 13 sixes in his blistering 54-ball 135. With this achievement, he now holds the record for the most sixes in an innings by an Indian in T20 internationals.

In 92 ODIs, he managed only 10 sixes, and in four T20 internationals, he didn’t hit a single one. Remarkably, Abhishek Sharma hit more sixes in a single T20 innings than Cook did in his entire ODI and Test careers combined.
Abhishek Sharma reached his half-century in just 17 balls, making it the second-fastest T20 fifty by an Indian. He went on to complete his century in just 37 balls, registering the second-fastest T20 century for India. Additionally, he became the first player in cricket history to score the fastest century against England.
With his incredible 135-run knock, Abhishek also set the record for the highest individual score by an Indian in T20 cricket. Moreover, his 13 sixes in a single innings now stand as a record for India in T20 internationals.
