AFG vs AUS, ICC Champions Trophy 2025: Sediqullah Atal's 85 off 95 balls and Azmatullah Omarzai's 67 off 63 propelled Afghanistan to a total of 273 all out against Australia in a key Group B Champions Trophy match.

Afghanistan elected to bat first but lost opener Rahmanullah Gurbaz early. Last-match centurion Ibrahim Zadran contributed 22 runs before Atal and Zadran put together a 69-run partnership for the second wicket to stabilize the innings. Omarzai's gritty half-century provided crucial middle-order support, helping Afghanistan reach a competitive total.

Ben Dwarshuis was the standout bowler for Australia with figures of 3/47, including two wickets in the final over. Spencer Johnson (2/49) and Adam Zampa (2/48) also took two wickets each.

Both teams need a win to advance to the semifinals. Afghanistan’s win over England in their previous match kept them in contention. Australia was forced to share points with South Africa after their last game was washed out. South Africa leads Group B with three points, while Australia has the same points but an inferior net run rate. Afghanistan is in third place with two points.

Brief scores: Afghanistan: 273 all out in 50 overs (Sediqullah Atal 85, Azmatullah Omarzai 67; Ben Dwarshuis 3/47, Spencer Johnson 2/49, Adam Zampa 2/48)
