Mohammed Siraj delivered a fiery opening spell for Gujarat Titans in their IPL 2025 match against Mumbai Indians at the Narendra Modi Stadium on Saturday. The fast bowler dismissed both openers, Rohit Sharma and Ryan Rickelton, to put Mumbai under pressure in their chase of 197. Siraj struck first in the opening over, removing Sharma after the batter hit him for consecutive boundaries. In the fifth over, he bowled a back-of-a-length delivery on leg stump to Rickelton, who got an inside edge. The ball crashed into the stumps, sending the off-stump flying. Siraj celebrated with Cristiano Ronaldo’s signature “SIUUU” gesture.
Earlier, Gujarat Titans posted 196/8 in 20 overs. Sai Sudharsan anchored the innings with 63 off 41 balls, hitting two sixes and four boundaries. He built crucial partnerships with Shubman Gill and Jos Buttler, adding 78 and 51 runs for the first and third wickets, respectively. GT captain Hardik Pandya led with the ball, taking 2/29 in four overs. Trent Boult, Deepak Chahar, Mujeeb Ur Rahman, and Satyanarayana Raju claimed one wicket each.
