Duckett opened alongside Phil Salt, who fell in the second over after Alex Carey took a stunning catch at mid-on. He then built a 30-run partnership with Jamie Smith before adding 158 runs with Joe Root for the third wicket. Their stand put England in a strong position in the Group B match.
In the recent ODI series against India, Duckett managed 131 runs in three matches. He has now established himself in England’s playing XI. He has scored over 900 runs in 20 ODIs with an average above 46. His strike rate is over 100. His record includes three centuries and six half-centuries.
