India secured its third Champions Trophy title with a hard-fought victory over New Zealand. Rachin Ravindra provided a solid start, but Varun Chakaravarthy broke the momentum by trapping Will Young leg before wicket in the eighth over.

New Zealand struggled at 59 for three by the 13th over after losing Ravindra for 37 and captain Kane Williamson for 11. Daryl Mitchell played a crucial knock, scoring a half-century, while Michael Bracewell’s unbeaten 50 pushed the total to 251 for seven in 50 overs.

India’s chase began with Rohit leading from the front. After a series of low scores in the tournament, the veteran batter delivered in the final with 76 off 83 balls, hitting seven fours and three sixes. Despite New Zealand’s efforts, India remained in control. Shreyas Iyer contributed 48, Axar Patel added 29, KL Rahul remained unbeaten on 34, and Hardik Pandya scored 19 as India sealed the win with six balls and four wickets to spare.
