David Warner has decided to opt out of the much anticipated ECB event 'The Hundred' citing personal reasons. The left-hander was one of the biggest names of the tournament and was snapped by Southampton based Southern Brave franchise for GBP 125,000. He was in the highest paid category for men. The 33-year old left-hander will be replaced by fellow Australian, Marcus Stoinis.
Warner's manager, James Erskine, confirmed the development and has cited 'family time' and a home series against the visiting Zimbabweans as reasons for the withdrawal. "I was excited to participate in The Hundred's inaugural season with Southern Brave, though with the latest updates to the Cricket Australia schedule in the middle part of 2020, and due to the exceptionally busy cricketing program over the last 12 months, I have decided to put my family first and spend this time of the year with them," Warner said. Australia is expected to host Zimbabwe for a short white-ball series, the schedule of which is yet to be confirmed by Cricket Australia (CA).
