Delhi Capitals bowlers fought back in the final overs to restrict Lucknow Super Giants to 209 for 8 on a batting-friendly pitch, despite explosive fifties from Mitchell Marsh and Nicholas Pooran on Monday.
LSG looked set for a much bigger total after reaching 133 for 1 in the 12th over, but they lost seven wickets for just 61 runs, falling at least 30 runs short of what seemed a par score.
Marsh smashed 72 off 36 balls, while Pooran blasted 75 off 30 deliveries. The duo added 87 runs in just seven overs. Marsh cleared the ropes six times, while Pooran sent the ball over the fence on seven occasions.
Kuldeep Yadav was the most effective bowler for Delhi, finishing with 2 for 20. Mitchell Starc used his variations well, claiming 3 for 42 in his four-over spell.
