Delhi Capitals are once again without senior batter Faf du Plessis for their IPL 2025 match against Rajasthan Royals at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. The 40-year-old South African missed the previous game against Mumbai Indians due to injury and remains sidelined for Wednesday’s fixture. In his absence, Delhi are fielding the same playing XI from their last match. Pacer Mohit Sharma had earlier said that Du Plessis is recovering well, but did not confirm his availability for the match. “He’s recovering well although I’m not sure if he’ll play or not. As far as I know, it’s not a big concern,” Sharma said on the eve of the match.
Du Plessis has featured in three matches for Delhi this season. He scored 81 runs at an average of 27 and a strike rate of 155.76. He started with 29 off 18 balls against Lucknow Super Giants and then smashed 50 off 27 balls against Sunrisers Hyderabad. However, he managed only 2 runs in his last outing against Royal Challengers Bengaluru.
