Sunil Gavaskar could not hide his joy as India lifted the ICC Champions Trophy after a thrilling final against New Zealand. The legendary cricketer, part of the tournament's commentary panel, was seen dancing with excitement as Gavaskar danced as the Indian team stepped onto the podium to receive the trophy and the customary white jacket at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Sunday night.

A video shared by Star Sports India captured the 75-year-old’s childlike enthusiasm. The post, captioned “𝘿𝙞𝙡 𝙩𝙤𝙝 𝙗𝙖𝙘𝙝𝙘𝙝𝙖 𝙝𝙖𝙞 𝙟𝙞 😍 Just a glimpse of Sunil Gavaskar's passion and love for Indian cricket,” quickly went viral.

Star Sports presenter Jatin Sapru exclaimed, “Who is going to stop Sunny ji today?” while Harbhajan Singh added, “We shouldn't stop him because this is a wonderful moment. He is a legend, and it was for him that we all started playing cricket.”

Presenter Mayanti Langer was seen laughing as she stepped aside to give a clear view of Gavaskar’s passionate celebration. Fellow panellist Robin Uthappa smiled as he captured the moment on his phone.

India secured their third Champions Trophy title with a hard-fought win over New Zealand. Mitchell Santner won the toss and chose to bat first, marking Rohit Sharma’s 12th consecutive toss loss in ODIs. Rachin Ravindra gave New Zealand a strong start, but Varun Chakaravarthy struck early by trapping Will Young leg before wicket in the eighth over.

By the 13th over, New Zealand was struggling at 59 for three after losing Ravindra for 37 and captain Kane Williamson for 11. Daryl Mitchell steadied the innings with a crucial half-century, while Michael Bracewell's unbeaten 50 helped push the total to 251 for seven in 50 overs.

India’s chase began with Rohit leading from the front. After a series of low scores in the tournament, the veteran batter stepped up in the final, scoring 76 off 83 balls with seven fours and three sixes. Despite New Zealand’s fightback, India maintained control. Contributions from Shreyas Iyer with 48, Axar Patel with 29, KL Rahul with 34 not out, and Hardik Pandya with 19 helped India secure victory with an over and four wickets to spare.
