Defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders are gearing up to begin their IPL 2025 campaign with a high-voltage clash against Royal Challengers Bengaluru at Eden Gardens. As the team prepares to chase a fourth title, co-owner Shah Rukh Khan delivered a heartfelt message to the players and staff, offering support ahead of the new season.
In a video shared by KKR’s social media channels, Khan addressed the squad in the dressing room, expressing gratitude and welcoming new faces. The Bollywood superstar first acknowledged head coach Chandrakant Pandit, who guided the team to its third IPL title last year.
“Please be healthy, be happy. And thank you, Chandu sir, for looking after them,” Khan said.

The team has seen some changes since last season, most notably a shift in captaincy. KKR handed the reins to Ajinkya Rahane, replacing Shreyas Iyer. Khan extended his support to the veteran batter, who will lead the side for the first time against RCB.

The actor concluded his speech by wishing the players well.
