KL Rahul has rejoined the Delhi Capitals squad ahead of their IPL 2025 match against Sunrisers Hyderabad on Sunday. Delhi Capitals welcomed KL Rahul with a special video on social media. It featured popular dialogues from Shah Rukh Khan's film Om Shanti Om. The video captured the excitement of Delhi fans, who handed him a cap and bat before draping him in the team’s flag. The cricketer responded with a simple message, saying, “I’m home.”

Delhi Capitals had signed Rahul in the IPL 2025 mega auction for INR 14 crore after he was released by Lucknow Super Giants, where he captained for three seasons. The star batter missed Delhi’s IPL 2025 match against Lucknow Super Giants on March 24 as he welcomed his daughter with his wife, Athiya Shetty.

Speaking about his move to Delhi Capitals, Rahul called it a new experience. “This is my fourth or fifth IPL franchise. It is exciting but also nerve-wracking. Every new team comes with uncertainties about how players will gel, how the management operates, and how fans will react. But looking at our squad and how it has been built, we seem to have most areas covered,” Rahul said.

He praised the mix of seasoned players and young talent in the squad. “I am eager to play alongside some incredibly skilled youngsters and learn from them. With players like Mitchell Starc, Axar Patel, and Kuldeep Yadav, we have a strong team. I cannot wait for the IPL to begin,” he added.

Rahul returned at a crucial time as Delhi prepares for their IPL clash against Sunrisers Hyderabad on Sunday at the Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium.
