Chennai Super Kings captain MS Dhoni once again won hearts with a kind gesture during the ongoing Indian Premier League 2025 season. Dhoni was seen at an airport surrounded by heavy security and police staff. A wheelchair-bound fan requested a photo as Dhoni was walking away. The former India captain stopped, took the fan’s phone and clicked a selfie himself. The video of the moment was shared widely on social media and received praise from fans.
On the field, Dhoni also made headlines by guiding CSK to a much-needed victory over Lucknow Super Giants. The team had lost five games in a row before breaking the streak. Batting first, LSG were restricted to 166 for 7 in 20 overs. During the chase, Dhoni came in at number seven and played a quick unbeaten knock of 26 runs off just 11 balls. He hit four fours and one six at a strike rate of over 236.
Dhoni was named Player of the Match and became the oldest player in IPL history to receive the award.
Chennai now has two wins and five defeats from seven matches. With four points, they remain at the bottom of the table. The team will hope to carry this momentum into their next match against Mumbai Indians at Wankhede Stadium on Sunday, April 20, 2025. Notably, Dhoni is back as captain after Ruturaj Gaikwad was ruled out.
