Mumbai Indians have been dealt a blow with Afghanistan spinner Allah Ghazanfar ruled out of IPL 2025 due to injury. The five-time champions have signed Mujeeb Ur Rahman as his replacement ahead of the upcoming season.
Mumbai Indians had secured Ghazanfar for Rs 4.8 crore during the IPL mega auction. The 18-year-old had been with Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2024 as a replacement for Mujeeb Ur Rahman but did not play. Despite not debuting in the IPL, Ghazanfar has impressed on the international stage.
On Sunday, February 16, the IPL confirmed Mumbai Indians' signing of Mujeeb Ur Rahman as a replacement for Ghazanfar. Mujeeb, a right-arm off-spinner, has played 19 IPL matches and claimed 19 wickets. He joins MI for INR 2 crore.
