The 18th edition of the Indian Premiere League (IPL) will begin with former champions Kolkata Knight Riders taking on Royal Challengers Bengaluru at the iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata on March 22, 2025. Before the first game, the tournament is set to kick off with a dazzling opening ceremony.

The opening ceremony promises to be a grand affair, with Bollywood’s biggest stars, Shraddha Kapoor and Varun Dhawan, taking the stage to light up the evening with their high-energy performances.  The opening ceremony will also feature a soulful performance by none other than Arijit Singh, the voice behind some of the most iconic and heartfelt songs. On the professional front, Shraddha Kapoor is fresh off the success of Stree 2, and her fans are eagerly awaiting news of her upcoming projects. 

There has been much speculation surrounding a potential film titled Nagin, which has generated buzz ever since producer Nikhil Dwivedi posted a clapperboard image earlier this year.Meanwhile, Varun Dhawan was last seen in the film Atlee’s Baby John, alongside Keerthy Suresh, which didn't fare well at the box office. However, Varun remains busy and is currently shooting for his upcoming film Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari (SSKTK)

 The first match of 18 season will be played between The Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bengaluru on Saturday, 22 March at 7:30 PM IST. The match will be streamed live on the streaming platform JIoHotstar. The match will also stream live on Star Sports Network.
