England batter Phil Salt produced a stunning moment in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 clash between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Gujarat Titans at M Chinnaswamy Stadium on Wednesday. He smashed a massive 105-meter six off Mohammed Siraj before getting clean bowled on the very next delivery. The incident took place in the fifth over of RCB’s innings. Siraj bowled a short-of-length delivery that Salt dispatched over mid-wicket, sending the ball out of the stadium. The crowd erupted in celebration as the shot cleared the roof.
However, Siraj had the last laugh. On the very next ball, the Gujarat Titans pacer delivered a full and fast 144-kph delivery. Salt charged down the track but was beaten for pace. The ball crashed into the middle stump before he could bring his bat down. Siraj finished with figures of 3 for 19, including the key wickets of Salt, Devdutt Padikkal, and Liam Livingstone. His spell helped Gujarat Titans restrict RCB to 169 runs.
Gujarat Titans won the toss and opted to field first. Explaining the decision, Gill said they aim to minimize mistakes and fine-tune their game. “Looks like a good wicket. We've seen the conditions don't change much. We're all about reducing our unforced errors. We'll try to fine-tune the areas that need it. Kagiso misses out due to personal reasons so we've got Arshad Khan back,” Gill said.
RCB skipper Rajat Patidar confirmed an unchanged lineup following back-to-back victories against Kolkata Knight Riders and Chennai Super Kings. "Would've bowled first as well because it's a new surface. It's pretty hard and won't change much. The way boys are chipping in gives a lot of confidence as a captain. We love this crowd. The way they love us and the support we've always received is incredible. Same team, he said.
