Veteran New Zealand batter Kane Williamson was spotted in Mumbai spending time with young cricketers and sharing his expertise on the field. He interacted with budding talents and trained them during a session. In a video shared by Star Sports, Indian Test batter Sarfaraz Khan was also seen with Williamson. The two cricketers clicked photos together.

The 34-year-old went unsold in the IPL 2025 auction held in Saudi Arabia last November. The former New Zealand captain has struggled with injuries in recent years and played only three matches for Gujarat Titans in the last two seasons. He managed to score just 27 runs in those games.

Williamson’s best IPL season came in 2018 when he scored 735 runs. However, his performances have declined since then, and his batting form has been inconsistent. Due to his injury concerns and recent struggles, he was expected to face difficulty attracting bids. As a result, he remains unsold for the upcoming IPL season.

After going unsold in the IPL 2025 auction, Williamson made his commentary debut in the tournament.

Williamson is expected to return to action for New Zealand in the T20I tri-series against Zimbabwe and South Africa in July. He also has a contract with Karachi Kings in the Pakistan Super League but may miss the start of the tournament.
