After an impressive opening partnership between Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan, Gujarat Titans posted 180/6 in their 20 overs against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in Match 26 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium. Gujarat Titans came into the match on the back of four consecutive victories, while LSG was riding a two-match winning streak. LSG captain Rishabh Pant won the toss and opted to field first.
Gujarat's opening pair of Gill and Sudharsan made a strong start, putting on more than 100 runs in their partnership. The duo took on LSG’s bowlers with confidence. They scored 35 without loss in the first four overs and managed to score 54 without losing a wicket at the end of the powerplay. Gill was in excellent form, reaching 50 in the 9th over. By the 10th over, Gujarat had reached 100/0 with both openers looking set. Gill was at 52 and Sudharsan at 46. The pair continued to attack after the powerplay, taking on Ravi Bishnoi and hitting him for 12 runs in his first over. Sudharsan reached his fifty in the 11th over, marking his fourth half-century of the season. However, a drop by Abdul Samad off Digvesh Rathi in the 11th over allowed Sudharsan to continue his innings.
