Mumbai Indians won the toss and chose to bowl first against Sunrisers Hyderabad in the 33rd match of the Indian Premier League 2025 at Wankhede Stadium on Thursday.

Mumbai Indians captain Hardik Pandya said the decision was influenced by the presence of dew in previous games at the venue. “We are going to bowl first. I think it is a lot to do with the dew. Last night there was dew and always at the Wankhede it is better to bat second,” Pandya said at the toss.

Pandya confirmed there were no changes in the MI playing XI and said team decisions, including changes in batting order, will depend on match situations. He also addressed concerns about Jasprit Bumrah’s fitness. “He is fine. We don’t need to worry about Jasprit Bumrah. If he’s not fit, he wouldn’t have been here,” he added.

Sunrisers Hyderabad skipper Pat Cummins also named an unchanged side. Speaking at the toss, Cummins said, “That’s fine. It looks a pretty good wicket. Same side. I think Abhi is still looking at the highlights,” he joked. The Australian pacer also talked about reverse swing not playing a big role in current conditions. “It’s tough to get reverse swing in these venues, especially with the dew coming in,” he said.
