Munaf Patel, the bowling coach of Delhi Capitals, has been fined 25 percent of his match fee and handed one demerit point for breaching the IPL Code of Conduct. The breach occurred during Delhi's match against Rajasthan Royals at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Wednesday. A statement from the BCCI read, "Munaf Patel admitted to the Level 1 offence under Article 2.20 – which pertains to the conduct that is contrary to the spirit of the game – and accepted the Match Referee’s sanction.

The incident occurred during Delhi's bowling when the fourth umpire reportedly stopped a reserve player from entering the field to deliver Patel’s message. Video footage showed the former India pacer arguing with the umpire while tying his shoelaces at the boundary line. The incident quickly went viral on social media.

In the match, Delhi Capitals scored 188/5 in their 20 overs after being asked to bat first. Contributions came from Abishek Porel (49 off 37), KL Rahul (38 off 32), Tristan Stubbs (34 off 18), and Axar Patel (34 off 14). Rajasthan Royals matched their total but fell short in the final moments.

Yashasvi Jaiswal (51 off 37) and Nitish Rana (51 off 28) were key for RR but could not secure the win. Mitchell Starc bowled a brilliant last over, defending nine runs and setting the stage for a tense Super Over. In the Super Over, RR was restricted to 12 runs after two run-outs. KL Rahul and Tristan Stubbs then guided Delhi to victory, with Rahul hitting a boundary and Stubbs finishing the game with a massive six. Delhi Capitals won their fifth match out of six this season, keeping their position at the top of the points table.
