Punjab Kings won the toss and elected to bat first against Kolkata Knight Riders in the 31st match of the Indian Premier League 2025 on Tuesday at the PCA Stadium in Mohali. Kolkata Knight Riders made one change to their lineup, bringing in Anrich Nortje for Moeen Ali. KKR captain Ajinkya Rahane said, "We were looking to bowl first on this wicket. For me, the toss is something you cannot control. We have a batting lineup that can chase the target. Nortje comes in for Moeen Ali, and I’m really looking forward to seeing him bowl tonight."
Shreyas Iyer-led Punjab Kings did not announce any team changes initially but focused on the wicket. "We are going to bat first. The wicket has been really good for the last couple of matches. The dew comes in, but the outfield doesn't skid through. We need to take as many catches in the field and create some brilliance," said Iyer.
