Devdutt Padikkal and Virat Kohli scored half-centuries to guide Royal Challengers Bengaluru to a seven-wicket win over Punjab Kings in the Indian Premier League 2025 match on Sunday. Chasing 157 runs for their fifth consecutive away win, RCB reached the target with five balls to spare. Padikkal scored 61 off 35 balls, hitting five fours and four sixes. Kohli remained steady with a 73-run knock off 54 balls, which included seven fours and one six. The pair added 103 runs for the second wicket to steady the chase after the early fall of Phil Salt, who managed just one run from three balls.
Captain Rajat Patidar contributed 12 runs off 13 deliveries with a single boundary.
Earlier, Punjab Kings struggled to build momentum and were restricted to 157 for six in their 20 overs. Opener Prabhsimran Singh gave a quick start with 33 off 17 balls, striking five fours and one six. His partner Priyansh Arya scored 22 from 15 balls with three fours and one six.
Josh Inglis chipped in with 29 off 17 balls, including two fours and one six. However, skipper Shreyas Iyer disappointed with six runs from 10 deliveries.
The middle overs saw a slowdown as Shashank Singh made 31 off 33 balls with just one four and Marco Jansen scored 25 off 20 balls.
For RCB, Suyash Sharma and Krunal Pandya were the pick of the bowlers with two wickets each.
