Former India cricketer Harbhajan Singh took a dig at Pakistan after India secured a place in the final of the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy. Harbhajan reminded Pakistan that they would not be hosting the title clash as India punched their ticket to the summit match.
The Champions Trophy final will be played in Dubai on March 9. India has played all its matches at a neutral venue. It was pre-decided that India's semi-final and final would be moved out of Pakistan if the team advanced beyond the group stage.
Harbhajan shared a post on X in Hindi, saying, "पहले पाकिस्तान टूर्नामेंट से बाहर। और अब फाइनल पाकिस्तान से बाहर" (First Pakistan out of the tournament. And now Pakistan out of the final).
Pakistan had a disappointing campaign and was eliminated in the league stage. The Men in Green lost their opening match against New Zealand. India then defeated Pakistan, with Virat Kohli scoring a century. The loss confirmed Pakistan's exit from the tournament. Their final group match against Bangladesh was washed out due to rain. Bangladesh also failed to win a game.
India faced Australia in the semi-final on March 4. Kohli once again starred with the bat, scoring 84 runs to guide India to victory. The Men in Blue will now face the winner of the second semi-final between New Zealand and South Africa. The match is being played in Lahore.
