The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) named Richard Thompson as its new chair on Saturday. Since Ian Watmore resigned in October 2021, the job has been vacant. Thompson, 55, will replace it starting on September 1 and will leave his current position as chair of Surrey County Cricket Club.
