With this achievement, Rohit has become the fourth Indian to cross 11,000 runs in ODIs. He joins Sachin Tendulkar, Virat Kohli, and Sourav Ganguly in an elite list of Indian batters.
Rohit’s journey as an opener began in 2013 when MS Dhoni promoted him to the top order. That decision changed his career and made him one of the most dominant batters in world cricket. His ability to score big runs and hit sixes effortlessly has cemented his legacy as one of the greatest openers in ODI history.
Rohit also recently surpassed Chris Gayle’s record of 331 sixes becoming the second player with the most sixes in ODI cricket. He trails Pakistan’s Shahid Afridi who holds the record with 351 sixes.
