Indian captain and opener Rohit Sharma lost his 11th consecutive toss in ODIs during India vs Australia Champions Trophy semi-final in Dubai on Tuesday, March 4. Sharma equalised an unwanted record held by the Netherlands skipper Peter Borren. West Indies legend Brian Lara holds the record for the most consecutive toss losses (12) in ODIs.
After losing the toss, Sharma stated that it was better to lose toss after when your confused as pitch keeps changing in nature in Dubai. He said that the team came prepared for both batting and bowling. Australian skipper Steve Smith won the toss in the coin flip on Tuesday in Champions Trophy 2025 semi-final.
"I was prepared to do both. When you're confused, it's better to lose the toss. The pitch keeps changing its nature. You have to play good cricket. We've played good cricket in all three games and that's what we'll try to do. We want to continue from where we left. Now that we are bowling first, we have to bowl well and restrict them to as low as possible," Sharma told Ravi Shastri during the coin flip.

What he actually meant was four spinner and two seamers. Indian Cricket Team is playing with the same squad wich they defeated New Zealand in the last group-stage match.
