Rohit Sharma returned to form with his first fifty-plus score of the IPL 2025 season during Mumbai Indians' match against Chennai Super Kings at the Wankhede Stadium on Sunday. Rohit, who walked in to open the innings as an Impact substitute, reached his half-century in 33 balls while chasing a target of 177. This marked his 44th IPL half-century.

The veteran batter had struggled earlier in the season, scoring only 82 runs in six innings with a highest score of 26 off 16 balls against Sunrisers Hyderabad. His innings against CSK was a vital contribution for Mumbai in a crucial home fixture.

This knock was also Rohit's ninth fifty-plus score against Chennai in IPL history. His record includes a century that came in the IPL 2024 season.
