Gujarat Titans opener Shubman Gill reached a major milestone in the IPL match against Mumbai Indians at the Narendra Modi Stadium. He became the first batter to score 1,000 IPL runs at the venue after starting the game with 986 runs. Gill achieved the feat in the fourth over while facing Deepak Chahar. He read the slower delivery and guided it towards deep backward point to complete the landmark. He was the second-fastest batter to score 1,000 IPL runs at a single venue. Chris Gayle holds the record. He reached the milestone in 19 innings at Bengaluru. Gill started well and helped Gujarat Titans reach 66 for no loss after the powerplay.

We have got the same team, might see one change with the impact sub. (On opening with Sai Sudharsan) We want to have a lefty-righty combination, and Jos (Buttler) has been playing at 3 for England, so nothing changes for him."
