Lucknow Super Giants won the toss and chose to bowl first against Sunrisers Hyderabad in the seventh match of the Indian Premier League 2025 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. Pat Cummins leads SRH, while Rishabh Pant captains LSG. Hyderabad started their campaign with a win, while Lucknow is looking to recover from an opening loss. Both teams aim to put up a strong performance, with SRH hoping to maintain momentum and LSG seeking a comeback.
SRH captain Pat Cummins said the team remains positive regardless of the situation. “It doesn't change the way our boys go about it. Even going for 10 or 11 runs an over can be match-winning on some days. We want to win games as a team and do well as a bowling unit. Hopefully, we score big,” he said.
LSG skipper Rishabh Pant explained the decision to bowl first. “We have to get them out early and chase the target. Team combination played a role in this decision. Avesh Khan comes in for Shahbaz. We will chase whatever they score,” Pant said.
