SRH will aim to maintain momentum, and LSG will seek a strong comeback.
Match Preview
Hyderabad, playing at home, is coming off a record-breaking performance. In their last match at this venue, they posted 286 against Rajasthan Royals, the second-highest total in IPL history, and won by 44 runs. Lucknow, on the other hand, struggled in their first game against Delhi Capitals. Their inexperienced bowling attack failed to contain Delhi’s batters, and Ashutosh Sharma’s quickfire half-century sealed their defeat. LSG’s batting lineup also fell short, collapsing after early fireworks from Nicholas Pooran and Mitchell Marsh.
Captains Speak
SRH captain Pat Cummins said the team remains positive regardless of the situation.
“It doesn’t change the way our boys go about it. Even conceding 10 or 11 runs an over can be match-winning on some days. We want to win games as a team and do well as a bowling unit. Hopefully, we score big,” Cummins said.
LSG skipper Rishabh Pant explained the decision to bowl first.
“We have to get them out early and chase the target. Team combination played a role in this decision. Avesh Khan comes in for Shahbaz. We will chase whatever they score,” Pant said.
