Vidarbha spinner Harsh Dubey set a new record for the most wickets in a Ranji Trophy season during the final against Kerala at the Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium.
The left-arm spinner reached the milestone after dismissing Aditya Sarwate, Salman Nizar and M.D. Nidheesh in the final. Dubey has taken 69 wickets in 19 innings at an average of nearly 16. He played a key role in Vidarbha’s journey to the final, picking up seven wickets in the second innings against Mumbai in the semifinal.
Dubey surpassed Bihar’s Ashutosh Aman, who took 68 wickets in the 2018-19 season. Jaydev Unadkat had claimed 67 wickets for Saurashtra in the 2019-20 season. With 69 wickets in 10 matches, Dubey now holds the record for the most wickets in a single edition of the tournament.
