IPL 2025: Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) head coach Andy Flower has provided a big update on Virat Kohli’s finger injury sustained during the match against Gujarat Titans on Wednesday, April 2, at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. The injury occurred when Kohli attempted to stop a boundary on the fifth ball of the 12th over in GT’s run chase. Kohli, positioned at deep mid-wicket, misjudged the ball, which slipped through his hands and reached the boundary. He appeared in pain and was immediately attended to by the team physio. Despite the injury, Kohli continued fielding after receiving treatment. Following the match, Flower reassured fans about Kohli’s condition. “Virat looks fine, he is okay,” Flower said during the post-match press conference.

RCB suffered an eight-wicket defeat against Gujarat Titans at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. Kohli had a forgettable performance, scoring just seven runs off six balls. He was dismissed by Arshad Khan after being caught at deep backward square leg.

Mohammed Siraj bowled a superb spell, taking 3/19 in four overs and dismantling RCB’s batting lineup. Gujarat Titans chased down the target in 17.5 overs with Sai Sudharsan (49) and Jos Buttler (unbeaten 73 off 39 balls) leading the way for the win.

RCB are currently in third place in the points table with four points and a net run rate (NRR) of +1.149. They will next face Mumbai Indians at Wankhede Stadium on April 7, 2025.
