In another bit of setback to the Bollywood film industry, filmmaker Nishikant Kamat passed away in Hyderabad. Actor Riteish Deshmukh confirmed the same on twitter. The news has come as a huge shock to the entire Bollywood industry.Talking about his sad demise, actor Ajay Devgn who worked with the acclaimed director in Drishyam mourned his demise. Taking to his Twitter account, the Singham actor wrote, "My equation with Nishikant was not just about Drishyam, a film which he directed with Tabu and me. It was an association that I cherished. He was bright; ever-smiling. He has gone too soon. RIP Nishikant." 

Earlier today, after the rumours of his death started doing the rounds on social media, people close to him stated that the filmmaker is very critical and on a ventilator but very much alive. A statement released by the hospital read, “Mr Nishikant Kamat is currently on ventilator support and continues to be in a critical condition.” After the filmmaker was admitted to a hospital in Hyderabad for jaundice and abdominal distention, he was diagnosed with Chronic Liver Disease and other secondary infections. He has been in the Intensive Care Unit ever since. Nishikanth directed Ajay in Drishyam which was one of the biggest hits upon its release. Some of his other notable works include, Force, Rocky Handsome, and Lai Bhaari.
