Veteran American radio and television personality, Larry King, passed away at the age of 87. His demise was announced on his official Twitter handle along with a statement from Ora Media. The statement read, "With profound sadness, Ora Media announces the death of our co-founder, host and friend Larry King, who passed away this morning at age 87 at Cedars-Sinai Medican Center in Los Angeles." A part of the statement further read, "For 63 years and across the platforms of radio, television and digital media, Larry’s many thousands of interviews, awards, and global acclaim stand as a testament to his unique and lasting talent as a broadcaster. Additionally, which it was his name appearing in the shows’ titles, Larry always viewed his interview subjects as the true star of his programs, and himself as merely an unbiased conduit between the guest and audience.

Whether he was interviewing a U.S. president, foreign leader, celebrity, scandal-ridden personage, or an everyman, Larry liked to ask short, direct, and uncomplicated questions. He believed concise questions usually provided the best answers, and he was not wrong in that belief." Larry King, who began his broadcasting journey in the 1970s, was diagnosed Covid 19 positive back in December. In the past, he had also suffered from Type 2 diabetes, lung cancer, angina and heart attacks, reported Sky News. Larry King, who quizzed thousands of world leaders, politicians and entertainers for CNN and other news outlets. Back in the 70s, King hosted his own radio show titled The Larry King Show. He then went on to make a shift towards television and  began hosting the Larry King Live on CNN. This show went on a historic run as it ran from 1985 to 2010.
