Anupam Kher-led Project Heal India has donated BiPAP machines and 5 oxygen concentrators to the BMC. . The Anupam Kher Foundation in collaboration with Dr Ashutosh Tewari (Global Cancer Foundation, USA) and Baba Kalyani, (Bharat Forge, India), recently started an initiative called Project Heal India. Project Heal India recently made a generous donation of 5 BiPAP machines and 5 Oxygen Concentrators to BMC for their brave Corona Warriors. Through the project, the organization aims to provide critical life-saving equipment and other life-supporting devices to medical institutions and hospitals across India. Earlier, in an  interview Anupam Kher gave to NDTV, the actor said a lot of criticism levelled against the government was valid.

The remarks were surprising for many and were much discussed on social media sites as Kher has been seen as a proponent for PM Narendra Modi and his government.Kher told NDTV, “I think the criticism is valid in lots of cases. Only an inhuman person will not get affected by the bodies floating (in the rivers).”The remark was related to the visuals of dead bodies found floating in Ganges and other rivers, leading many to think they were people who died of Covid-19. But he had also said that other political parties should not gain from the government’s failings.“But for another political party to use it for their gain, I think that is also not right. I think we should, as people, get angry. It is important to hold the government responsible for what’s happening. Somewhere they have slipped. It is time for them to understand that there is much more to life than just image building maybe,” the actor added. Meanwhile, on the work front, Anupam had won the Best Actor award at the New York City International Film Festival for his short film titled 'Happy Birthday', adding a feather to his cap. The film also bagged the Best Short Film award at the prestigious film festival.
