New Delhi [India], September 8 : Chef turned actor Ranveer Brar recently shared insights into his upcoming film, 'The Buckingham Murders' meanwhile discussing his on-screen chemistry with Kareena Kapoor Khan.

Scheduled for release on September 13, the movie is directed by Hansal Mehta and stars Kareena Kapoor Khan in a gripping role.

Ranveer, who plays the character Daljeet Kohli, expressed his excitement and trepidation about his acting career.

Reflecting on his journey, he admitted that while he had previously declined acting roles due to a fear of being typecast as a villain, he found his stride with 'Modern Love Mumbai'.

"When I came to Mumbai, I always believed my arrival was no coincidence," Ranveer said, in a conversation with ANI.

His first experience in acting was through the series, which he found comforting as it involved playing a role akin to his own profession.

In his latest project, Ranveer plays a role starkly different from his real-life persona.

"This time, I'm not playing a chef. I liked the idea of portraying a character so unlike myself," he noted.

He also praised director Hansal Mehta for his demanding yet insightful direction.

"Hansal sir's approach requires depth and precision. He's amazing in terms of how he understands you as an individual, and how he understands your character, and how he very simply makes you meet your character," he said.

"I didn't go to any workshop, nothing, even the script reading that was going on, that day I had another shoot, I went to London one day, so I wasn't even in the reading. He and I did not even meet, we talked on the phone, and I went, I was totally tensed... And then he said, Ranveer, I want stillness," adding "Whatever you do, I want stillness. Speak a dialogue with stillness and then keep stillness when you are not speaking a dialogue as well."

Ranveer further opened up about his experience working with Kareena Kapoor Khan.

Ranveer described it as "outstanding".

"It was something else. You know, obviously, for most of the shoot, you're in awe. She's the queen of the industry, and working with her was surreal. Her ability to transform instantly when the camera rolls is remarkable," he said.

Ranveer emphasized Kareena's knack for making her co-stars feel at ease while bringing unparalleled expertise to her craft.

"She has this amazing knack of just sort of, you know, being normal and treating you very very normally."

The film, 'The Buckingham Murders', features Kareena as a grieving detective on a quest to capture a child murderer. The trailer showcases her intense portrayal of the role, adding depth to the film's narrative.

As the release date approaches, Ranveer is hopeful and enthusiastic. "It's been a thrilling journey, and I'm excited for audiences to see the film," he concluded.

'The Buckingham Murders' will be released in the theatres on September 13.
