Did You Know? Akshaye Khanna Wasn’t the First Choice for Aurangzeb's Role in Chhaava!
After Vicky Kaushal, Rashmika Mandanna, the most talked-about character from Laxman Utekar's director chhaava is Akshaye Khanna's. The film is making waves at the box office after a significant dip on Monday. The epic saga of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj has struck an emotional chord with audiences, earning widespread love from both viewers and critics.
While Vicky Kaushal and Rashmika Mandanna have delivered stellar performances, Akshaye Khanna’s portrayal of Aurangzeb has left audiences spellbound. His intense screen presence, long hair, grown beard, and piercing gaze lined with surma make him a terrifying yet captivating antagonist. However, did you know that Akshaye Khanna was not the first choice for this role?
According to a report by E-Times, the role of Aurangzeb was initially offered to Anil Kapoor. He was reportedly ready to sign the film, and had things gone as planned, he would have played the ruthless Mughal emperor. In the film industry, casting changes are common due to various factors such as scheduling conflicts, script adjustments, or co-star availability. Unfortunately, things didn’t work out, and Anil Kapoor had to step away from the project. This paved the way for Akshaye Khanna, who ultimately took on the role and delivered a power-packed performance.
With powerful performances, gripping storytelling, and a grand cinematic experience, chhaava continues to dominate the box office. Akshaye Khanna’s unexpected but brilliant casting as Aurangzeb has turned out to be a major highlight of the film.
