Bollywood actor Yami Gautam has been summoned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) according to news agency ANI. The ED has asked her to appear before them next week to record her statement in connection with alleged irregularities under FEMA (Foreign Exchange Management Act).Officials said Yami Gautam received ₹1.5 crore in her private bank account, which she didn’t disclose. She has been asked to join the probe on July 7.
This is the second time Yami Gautam, has been summoned by the federal agency. The first summons was issued to her last year, but she failed to visit the ED office due to restrictions during the coronavirus pandemic. On the work front, Yami has resumed shooting for a thriller film, titled A Thursday. The film is helmed by Behzad Khambata and also stars Neha Dhupia, Atul Kulkarni and Dimple Kapadia in important roles. Ronnie Screwvala is the producer of the film. Yami will be seen essaying the role of a school teacher named Naina Jaiswal in the thriller. The actress also recently tied the knot with director Aditya Dhar n a private ceremony on June 4.
