The Kapoors came together, to attend, actor-filmmaker, Rajiv Kapoor's prayer meet in Mumbai. The veteran actor had died of a massive cardiac arrest at the age of 58. In attendance were, Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, Karisma Kapoor, Rajiv’s nephew Armaan Jain and Aadar Jain had also attended the prayer meet among other relatives. Neetu Kapoor was also present at the prayer meet. The Kapoors made sure to take all the necessary precautions during Rajiv Kapoor’s last rites and prayer meet. Meanwhile, brother, Randhir Kapoor looked devastated after his younger brother's death. Speaking to E-times, the veteran actor said, "I don't know what's happening. I was equally close to Rishi and Rajiv. I have lost four people from my family--my mother Krishna Kapoor (October 2018), eldest sister Ritu (January 14, 2020), Rishi and now Rajiv. These four were my central core, with whom I did most of my talking,"
Randhir adds while talking about the puja that he, his wife Babita, daughter Karisma and a few other Kapoors performed on the chautha (a public gathering was avoided on account of the ongoing pandemic). "It was a small puja for Rajiv's chautha."Randhir informed his youngest brother was very excited about his Bollywood comeback with 'Toolsidas Junior' helmed by Ashutosh and Sunita Gowariker. "Rajiv was a very gentle and extremely jovial person. It is so tough to believe that he is gone. He had no medical history. His health was simply fine; he had no problems whatsoever. He was also not stressed out about anything," points out Randhir. The last year has been difficult for Raj Kapoor's family who have now been bereaved thrice within a span of 13 months. The family first mourned the loss of Ritu Nanda who, at the age of 71, lost her battle against cancer on January 14, 2020. Rishi Kapoor, who had returned from New York in September 2019 soon bid the world adieu. The Bobby star breathed his last on 30th April after battling cancer for two years. The funeral at the Chandanwadi crematorium was attended only by close friends and family members given the social distancing restrictions imposed at the time. However, social media was flooded with condolence tweets from the fraternity and fans. The 58-year-old actor-turned-filmmaker Rajiv, who was present for his younger brother’s funeral, passed away today, on February 9, after suffering a massive heart attack. He was rushed to the hospital where he was declared dead on arrival.
