Kalpana Raghavendar Attempts Suicide: Playback Singer Hospitalised in Hyderabad After Consuming Sleeping Pills

Kalpana Raghavendar, a popular playback singer, was found sleeping in an alleged attempt to commit suicide at her Nizampet residence in Hyderabad on March 2. According to the reports, she was found unconscious at her residence and was rushed to the hospital for treatment. However, the singer is currently in stable condition and on ventilator support.

The incident came to light after apartment security alerted the residents that the Kalpana did not open her door for the past two days. Her neighbours called the police, after which the police broke the door, in which she was found in an unconscious state and rushed to the hospital for treatment. The exact reason behind her suicide attempt remains unknown.

Kalpana's husband was on a visit to Chennai at the time of the incident. He rushed to Hyderabad after hearing the news. Kalpana, a well-known singer, is the daughter of noted playback singer TS Raghavendra. Kalpana collaborated with many notable composers, including Ilaiyaraaja and AR Rahman.

Kalpana recorded over 1,500 songs in multiple languages. She also participated in Bigg Boss Telugu Season 1, which was hosted by Jr NTR. Apart from this, Kalpana also had a brief acting stint, with a cameo in Kamal Haasan's Punnagai Mannan.
