Kesari Chapter 2 Advance Booking Hits Rs 1.86 Crore Ahead of Theatrical Release; Over 24,000 Tickets Sold
Kesari Chapter 2 will be released in theatres on Friday, April 18. Ahead of its premiere, audiences are avidly buying their seats in theatres via advance booking. Sacnilk reports that Kesari Chapter 2 has already sold 24,935 tickets across 3,503 shows, netting Rs 82.85 lakh in advance sales. With blocked tickets included, the total advance booking collection reaches Rs 1.86 crore.
On April 15, the makers of Kesari Chapter 2 held an elegant premiere in Delhi, rolling out the red carpet. A special show was arranged at a theatre in Chanakyapuri, and several major political figures and dignitaries attended. Akshay Kumar and R Madhavan personally greeted the distinguished attendees at the private event.
Ahead of the special screening, Akshay Kumar addressed the audience and asked them not to use their phones during the film. He said, “I humbly request you all to please keep your phones in your pockets and listen to every dialogue of this film. It will mean a lot. If you try to check your Instagram during the movie, it will be a humiliation for the film. So I request everyone to keep their phones away.”
Set against the backdrop of the Jallianwala Bagh tragedy, Kesari Chapter 2 is a spiritual sequel to Akshay Kumar's 2019 blockbuster Kesari. The Anurag Singh-directed film followed the dramatic events of the Battle of Saragarhi, in which 21 Sikh soldiers from the 36th Sikh Regiment of the British Indian Army heroically fought 10,000 Afridi and Orakzai Pashtun tribesmen in 1897.
