There were circulating reports about Malayalam actor Mammootty, suggesting that the 73-year-old actor had been diagnosed with cancer and was taking a break from films. However, his team quickly debunked these rumors, clarifying that it was all false. They assured that Mammootty was simply on a vacation, observing fasting for Ramzan, and would return to work soon after his break.

A statement from Mammootty's team read, "This is fake news. He is on a break for Ramzan fasting and is not shooting at the moment. After his break, he will resume shooting for Mahesh Narayanan's film alongside Mohanlal." The film's first schedule had already begun in Sri Lanka, marking the long-awaited collaboration of the two iconic Malayalam stars on screen after over a decade. The film, tentatively titled MMMN (Mammootty, Mohanlal, Mahesh Narayanan), also features Fahadh Faasil, Kunchacko Boban, Nayanthara, Darshana Rajendran, and others.

In recent news, Mammootty revealed a new poster for his upcoming film Bazooka, which is set to release in theaters on April 10, 2025, after several delays.
