Nawazuddin Siddiqui Met Real-Life Costao Fernandes to Prepare for His Role In Costao, Reveals Source

Nawazuddin Siddiqui, one of the legendary actors of Indian cinema, has consistently delivered remarkable performances in critically acclaimed films. He is known for bringing depth and authenticity to every character by bringing life to it. And now the legendary actor is set to mesmerize audiences once again in his next, titled Costao. The gripping crime thriller, based on the real-life story of Mr. Costao Fernandes, a dedicated Customs officer, will see Nawaz playing a real-life character. The film is set to stream on OTT this week, promising another stellar performance by the actor, who continues to raise the bar in the industry. 

Ahead of the release of the film, a source revealed how Nawazuddin Siddiqui prepared for the role and embodied the real-life character, spending time with Mr. Fernandes before the shoot. The source revealed how Nawaz prepared for his role in the film, saying, “For his portrayal in Costao, Nawaz met the real-life Mr. Costao Fernandes, a customs officer from Goa, to prepare for the role. Nawaz would spend time with Fernandes, absorbing his mannerisms and life experiences. He made it a point to meet him just before shooting, ensuring he could authentically embody the character with precision."

This shows Nawazuddin’s dedication to realism and how he is dedicated to completely embodying his characters. He will play Costao Fernandes, the customs officer in Goa during the 1990s who uncovered a gold smuggling syndicate.  Costao, written by Bhavesh Mandalia and Meghna Srivastava, will release on May 1. The film also stars Priya Bapat, Hussain Dalal, and others. Apart from Costao, Nawazuddin Siddiqui has several exciting projects lined up. He is set to star in Maddock Films' horror-comedy Thama, alongside Rashmika Mandanna and Ayushmann Khurrana. Fans are eagerly anticipating his performance in this upcoming, highly anticipated project.
